The Inventory Control System Itself
Posted by Steven in The Inventory Control System Itself
The components of good inventory control system already have been discussed. In summary, note that every system requires a transaction record for each of the t
hree areas; raw materials, materials in process, and finished goods. And each transaction means a debit to one inventory and credit to another.
The transaction record should include:
1) Transaction date
2) Person responsible for the transaction
3) Item names & numbers
4) Origin & destination of items moved.
Once all the transactions have been completed, a listing of transactions should be checked to make sure nothing has supplied through the cracks. This is true of automated as well as manual systems.
